The yacht deckhand course is a great way to acquire or strengthen the base knowledge and understanding of the work on the Deck of yacht, not only will you learn valuable deck skills but will also learn how to support the Captain on the wheelhouse by using our professional TRANSAS ship simulator.

Theory is always followed by practice, making this class very practical and efficient, while giving yacht crew the necessary tools to deal with real life situations using our state-of-the-art yacht simulator. Each day brings new topics and emphasizes the critical parts of the deck job, such as Safety and Navigation.

On completion of the course you will receive an STCW deck rating credential. This credential is beneficial to furthering your yacht deck career.

Crew will receive classroom knowledge including simulator practice and unlike the yacht deck rating course, you will receive the STCW Rating Forming Part of a Navigational Watch (RFPNW) qualification with documented sea time. The credential is recognized by all flag states including UK MCA and the USCG. If you are just starting out or want to get to the next deck level this is the perfect course for you.

2 Day STCW Basic Training (Blended Accepted with all Flag States)

STCW covers the standards of training and certification for all seafarers including standards for licensed deck and engineering officers, special training, emergency and security training. The STCW Basic Safety Training course teaches you critical safety information to prepare you for work on a yacht. You will learn sea survival techniques, fire fighting skills, First Aid/CPR, and how to safely conduct yourself on board your yacht. Our experienced instructors will keep the practical course exciting and fun, while teaching you critical life saving skills that could save yours or your fellow crew members life.

Our Instructors are Master Mariners with extensive large yacht and passenger ship experience. STCW contains eight chapters with chapter six covering the requirements for Basic training. Basic training is required for all crew members working on a Yacht as part of the crew and should be completed before working on your Yacht. The course meets international standards required by Flag states including the MCA, US Coastguard, Marshall Islands, Isle of Man and Grand Cayman.
